Charlottesville, VA—Park View at South Pantops, a 90-unit affordable senior housing community in Charlottesville, Virginia, recently named Susan Coiner Rooke Property Manager. She will be responsible for the initial lease-up and day-to-day operations and management of the new community located on approximately 4.5 acres in the 200 block of South Pantops Road overlooking the scenic Rivanna River. When completed in late summer, this $10 million undertaking will be Charlottesville's newest and most exciting affordable senior living rental community. The community expects to welcome its first residents in September.

Susan Coiner Rooke, a native of Charlottesville, Virginia, has nearly 20 years experience in real estate management. Prior to joining Park View at South Pantops, she was Property Manager of College Park Communities, a large residential community in Charlottesville. Her previous experience also includes the management of her own property management consulting firm and the position of Senior Property Manager for Management Services Corporation.

Susan Coiner Rooke is a member of the Blue Ridge Apartment Council, the Virginia Apartment Management Association and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks in Charlottesville. She graduated from Charlottesville High School and Lynchburg College with an emphasis on business management. Park View at South Pantops is a four-story building with elevator, containing 54 one-bedroom and 36 two-bedroom apartments. The units feature fully-equipped kitchens, 24-hour centrally monitored emergency pull cords, wiring for cable television and telephone, a tenant controlled lobby entrance system, and individually controlled and metered utilities. Interior amenities include a large community room with kitchen, salon, exercise room, activity room and laundry room. A complete range of resident activities and services will be provided by the Jefferson Area Board for Aging (JABA).

Park View at South Pantops is the result of a collaboration between Shelter Development, LLC and JABA. The community will provide seniors aged 62 and older with an affordable quality housing option thanks to the lower financing costs resulting from the award and subsequent sale of low income housing tax credits by the Virginia Housing Development Authority, an enthusiastic advocate of this project.
