THE
SHELTER GROUP NAMES MILLER SENIOR DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
Baltimore, Md.—The Shelter Group, a nationally known developer
and manager of apartment and senior living communities, recently named
Maria E. Miller as a Senior Development Director with Shelter Development,
LLC. In this position, she is responsible for the development, acquisition
and financing of various real estate transactions.
According to Marilynn Duker, President of Shelter Development,
LLC., "Maria's enthusiasm, her real estate development and financing
experience, and her action oriented approach all combine to make
her an excellent-and dynamic-addition to Shelter Development's team.
Maria is the type of person we need as we move forward aggressively
to grow our affordable housing business."
Prior to joining Shelter, Ms. Miller was a Senior Vice President
at Bank of America, where she ran the Bank's Community Development
Corporation in Baltimore. In that capacity, she developed the $95
million Centerpoint project which is a lynchpin of the City's Westside
Redevelopment Initiative. The project is a mixed-use redevelopment
of a full city block and includes 394 units of luxury rental housing,
retail space and a 400-space parking garage. Her career at the Bank
spanned 18 years.
Ms. Miller serves on the Boards of the Hippodrome Performing Arts
Foundation, the Maryland Affordable Housing Trust, and the Baltimore
Heritage Area Association. She has a Bachelors degree from Georgetown
University and completed the Johns Hopkins University Real Estate
Development and Investment Program.
