BRIGHTVIEW SENIOR LIVING STARTS CONSTRUCTION OF WESTMINSTER RIDGE RETIREMENT COMMUNITY

Westminster, MD - Westminster Ridge, Brightview Senior Living's newest Maryland community, recently started construction and is scheduled to open in early 2006. The new, 162-apartment home community will offer those 62 and older a vibrant social environment where housekeeping, cooking, transportation, and maintenance are provided by friendly and caring staff members 24 hours a day. It will also offer on-campus assisted living services to residents who need additional assistance.

"The growth and demand of quality oriented senior services within Carroll County makes us believe that Westminster Ridge will be a great fit," stated Phil Golden, president of Brightview Senior Living. "With our headquarters in Maryland, we are proud to be building our fifth local Brightview community." The location, where Center Street meets Gorsuch Road, provides convenient access to shopping, places of worship, and medical facilities.

Construction of the $22 million project is being done by Harkins Builders. Mercantile Bank and The Shelter Group are providing the financing. This team successfully completed a similar project in the Mays Chapel neighborhood of Timonium in 2002. That community, Mays Chapel Ridge, is currently full with a waiting list.

"By the time this community is built, we will have an inviting home for hundreds of seniors, employment for over 100 individuals, and an attractive community that will provide exceptional service at a good value. And as a rental community, there will be no large up-front fees at Westminster Ridge, leaving residents in control of their assets," reflected Mr. Golden.
